Toxbase is the clinical toxicology database of the UK National Poisons Information Service (NPIS).
NPIS is the Department of Health approved and Health Protection Agency commissioned service that provides expert advice on all aspects of acute and chronic poisoning.
This service comprises four individual centres within the UK and provides specialist consultants in clinical toxicology and poisons information specialists. For the last 40 years the UK database in this field has been unrivalled - and has now been streamlined to include Toxbase.
Toxbase was set up to provide the first point of contact for poisons information, together with generic advice on the management of poisoning.
By using Toxbase Aeromed can obtain key clinical information rapidly, including advice on potentially hazardous doses and appropriate management.
